Smelling opportunity, Gorzhan arrived in Red Larch after finding a wanted poster for a Fire Cultist named Bastian Thermandar. Approached by a small child who talked of a ghost in the nearby graveyard, Gorzhan investigated to find a Goblin and Ogre that had made camp with the aim to ambush any nearby merchants. They put up a tough fight but the Dragonborn fighter took them down with fiery breath and sharp greatsword.

For much of his life, Redkin was a humble shipwright, toiling away his days in the far off town of Westgate. When his two adult sons were killed fighting a war in a distant land, Redkin’s world was torn asunder. He wandered the world for many months, finding solace in the teachings of the god Illmater. Redkin took up the cloth and dedicated himself to protecting and healing those who would have his aid.

Privately, Redkin fears he will never fill the void left by the loss of his boys, but he continues his journey confident that Illmater will eventually heal his own broken soul.

He is a dour, serious man with a grim disposition.

Redkin traveled to Red Larch after receiving a letter from a concerned parent, telling him that their daughter had been brainwashed by a cult.

So Far

Malark was brought to Red Larch via a letter sent to him from an anonymous “friend”, who warned him that he had wronged some people he shouldn’t have, and that men in robes with a symbol on them were after him.

The friend turned out to be Vallivoe, and the men bandits who had stolen the robes of fire cultists. They had blackmailed Vallivoe into sending Malark into an ambush but did not expect the party to come with him. Malark confronted Vallivoe about his treachery and the shopkeep swore to make up for his deception.

Malark last operated out of Silverymoon. He was embroiled in a con, pretending nobility for the opportunity to woo the daughter of a rich merchant. Things went south when the father caught onto the act, threatening retribution.

<<This needs to be a bigger thing to fit the character description. I want it to be con-related, and it makes sense for things to have gone south, but it doesn’t seem powerful enough>>

Malark had contact with a mage who offered means of defending himself and a safe way out of the city. All he had to do was sign this contract. He signed the contract, unbeknownst to him sealing a deal with the devil. He doesn’t quite understand what he’s got into but so far, he’s enjoying the powers it unlocked.

Recently, a demonic tome appeared by his bed one morning with a note explaining its use. Is someone following him? And what is with these strange dreams?
